Tribulations

In case you are wondering what I’m doing when I’m NOT writing these days, I’m being my usual Don Quixote self, tilting at windmills–or in my case (always) bureaucracy. Today I was trying to deal with CoveredCA.com, the portal for Obamacare here in California.

Number 29 in the queue . . . #coveredca . . . I applied in November and am still waiting to find out what is going on . . .

Now they hung up on me #coveredca . . .

.

I then called twice and they hung up on me twice. I sent an email–at least that got a response that they would get back to me within two days and they suggested I call, probably because they want to hang up on me again.

Now I’m on hold somewhere else 51 minutes and counting . . .

  1. I feel for you, Gina. We are caught in the same mess. We have 2 choices–continue paying $1600/month in health insurance with a $2900 deductible or go without. We don’t qualify for anything lower, according to the website. We talked to an insurance broker who couldn’t get any answers for us either. Her only suggestion was to let our current policy lapse & wait until January to see if anything is offered for us as one of the uninsured. Scary thought.

    1. Very scary! That’s crazy expensive! They want to put me on Medi-Cal but–even though I got the documentation in two weeks ago–I haven’t heard anything and it’s getting very close to Jan 1.
